Things to do around Comuna Crew

Comuna Crew Stay & Learn is located in Itabashi ward of Tokyo. We are well connected via metro to the whole city and just ten minutes away from Ikebukuro, one of the major Tokyo districts. We recommend everyone makes a stop in Ikebukuro (see below) but you can also find plenty to do, even just walking from our house.

We are blessed with fantastic neighbours and a great community with lots of events happening throughout the year. We've been invited to festivals, shrine-carrying, sports days and mochi-making...guests are always welcome too!

Kotobuki

Kotobuki is our favourite place to eat, partly because it is right next door! They have been running this traditional restaurant for 39 years! The menu offers a range of typical Japanese home-style dishes as well as a selection of sashimi and delicious bar-food. We translated their menu into English and we love teaching our guests how to use it to order properly in Japanese (no pictures!). As well as great food, Kotobuki has a cosy atmosphere and friendly locals to practice your Japanese with

Happy Road Ooyama

This place is a real treat. A traditional, covered shopping street with over 170 shops and restaurants just 15 minutes walk from our house. You can shop for souvenirs or daily goods and eat just about any Japanese food you can think of. With some bars open until the morning, game centers and karaoke, there is plenty to do at any time of day/night!

Sentou public baths

We are lucky to have two public baths just a couple of minutes from our house. This is an ancient Japanese custom which has survived until today.

GEN

Our neighbour's dog visits the house almost every day! He knows we keep a bag of treats by the door for him. Don't worry, no animals live in the house (except our goldfish!)
